Plan the next shot
No more pacing it off from the 150 post in long, optimistic strides. It takes the yardage, wind and elevation, holds them against how far you really hit each club, and suggests one.
Pin’s tucked. It still says middle of the green. Rude.
Ask SecretCaddie what club to hit and where to aim while your partners debate whether that was a gimme. It logs the group's scores and side bets, and yes, the two-dollar skin that will get argued over all through lunch.
Take the six. It's playing 163 into the breeze. Aim middle; I'd rather hear you complain about a 30-foot putt than a front-bunker lie.
Picks your club while the starter's still saying your name, and adds up the number you'd rather forget.
No more pacing it off from the 150 post in long, optimistic strides. It takes the yardage, wind and elevation, holds them against how far you really hit each club, and suggests one.
Get the hole, its hazards and a suggested shot line in view, and pick a target with room for the fade you've been calling a draw since 2019.
Log the shots and scores while everyone remembers them. The side games stay straight, and the round is saved for later, including the hole with three provisional balls and no witnesses.
Get Saturday's course planned, practice the shot you quietly skip at the range, and go back over the round once you've stopped replaying the 14th in the shower.
Distances, a hole plan and a warm-up for knees still asleep.
Club and aim for the shot in front of you, from the hill you swore was flat.
It was an 84 apart from three holes. Let's look at those three.
SecretCaddie is being tested with an invited group. These features are part of the current build; availability and behaviour are still being verified before a wider release.
Somebody always volunteers to organize the foursome. By hole six, he’s also the appeals court for the bet. We’re building a caddie to handle the invitations, the game and the agreed terms.
The app runs the game your group plays: Skins, Nassau and a catalog of about fifty formats. You set the stakes at the first tee, and scores go in as you hole out, so the standings stay right even while the man who's three up keeps saying he's having a shocker. After eighteen it hands you the total, settling the argument that would otherwise run until Tuesday.
50 games, side bets and formats in the cataloguePete is in, weather permitting, and Pete's weather has never once permitted. Keep your regulars, group details and shared rounds together, send invitations, see who's in, and fill his spot with someone who owns rain gear.
You find a 7:04 on Saturday, screenshot it, send it round and wait. Two thumbs-up and one "what about 8?" later, someone else has booked it. We're planning tee-time search across your usual courses, so you can book the time and invite the group in one go, in the app where the course supports it or on its own site.

Saturday 9:06, four in, booked under Mike's wife's email.
On blind holes, someone jogs up the hill to look, then waves back a signal nobody can decode. We're building photorealistic flyovers to read the terrain, follow the dogleg and feel out the approach before you reach the tee.
For the golfer who plumb-bobs for a full minute and hits it dead straight anyway. See how a read might tie start line, break and stroke rhythm together. Illustrative model only; no camera is measuring your green.
Hold to talk from the passenger seat while your buddy drives the cart like it's stolen, ask, and have your club out before he brakes. Typing works too, bumps permitting. Club advice, yardages and round updates stay in one conversation.
“I need to carry the water. Lie to me if I can't.”
Ask about the creek that looked smaller from the tee.
What's next for the caddie: development plans, no release dates announced. We know how dates go. Your regrip's been 'after winter' for three winters.
Planned, for anyone who's called the pro shop, sat through four loops of panpipe Greensleeves, and been offered 6:10 or 3:50. Search supported courses for a time that suits the group; book in the app where supported, or on the course's site.
From above, that greenside bunker is a beige smudge. From inside it, all you can see is sky and Dave's shoes. We're testing richer imagery, terrain and surface detail, from whole-course overview to the approach. The captures above show the current renderer; the finished treatment is still being explored.
Hit it left, into the trees, into a bad mood, and the plan updates from wherever your ball actually stopped, not where it should have. It flags the next shot and whatever changed the math.
You've started aiming at the left trees on purpose and calling it a fade. We're planning interactive diagrams and 3D showing how clubface and swing path bend the ball, plus setup guidance sized to your measurements and handedness.
For the clip where the ball vanishes into a white sky and you swear it was straight. A planned flight trace for recorded shots, marking the bit we actually tracked apart from our estimate of the rest. Separate from swing review's body-position overlay.
for practicing the lovely smooth stroke you have on the practice green, which leaves the building the moment a skin rides on a three-footer. We're investigating an overlay that would combine confirmed ball and cup positions, qualified slope data, an estimated putt line and a steady stroke rhythm. The camera can't measure contours by itself, and surface accuracy, alignment and calibration to your stroke still need validating on the phone.
On the roadmap: round information on a Garmin watch and a connection between watch and round data. For the walk back to the tee after declaring your first ball ‘definitely findable.’ Supported devices and integration still need to be established.
Invitation only while we test with a small group. Already added? Sign in and choose the Google account that received the invite. Yes, that email address, the one you haven't opened since the last away trip.
No. Open SecretCaddie in your phone's browser. The first tee is a lousy place to remember your app store password. Public app store links will appear here when the listings are available.
Your bag is where the advice starts, so the numbers in it matter. The 5-iron that lost eight yards over winter is the one to update. Leave it and you'll get excellent suggestions for last August's golfer.
Yes. Group scoring and side games are in the app now, and the game you picked on the first tee is written down, however keen someone gets to invent a new one on the third, shortly after his double on two. Still being built: playing partners, invitations, headcounts and a shared record of the round and bets.
It's on the What's coming list. Search and booking will depend on each course and its booking provider. We're familiar with the current process: you announce 7:12, and three friends suddenly remember they have families.
Yes. SecretCaddie suggests a club and a target from the distances you actually hit, plus the yardage, wind and elevation. Peeking in your partner's bag works right up until you remember he hits his nine where you hit your six.
Yes, club advice accounts for both. It earns its keep on the downhill par three where all four of you pick a different club and all four of you end up chipping back from the same bush behind the green.
Yes, plus about 50 other games. It follows who's ahead from the first hole, including the guy who said he was only playing for fun until he won the second skin. At the end it shows who owes what. It doesn't move money, and he'll still want his in cash.
Yes. Hold to talk and the glove can stay on. Anyone who has tried typing "seven-iron" with a leather fingertip knows why. Typing still works once it's off.
Yes, as a CSV, and they become your club distances. They'll carry the flattering glow of a heated bay and a forgiving mat until the shots you log on actual wet grass start correcting them. Watch syncing is a different thing, and it's still on the planned list.
Your caddie's one question away. "Is that water?" counts.
